Born and raised in St. Petersburg, FL, Katie Kearns was surrounded by art from a young age. She received a Bachelors of Fine Art, with an emphasis in ceramics, from Florida Atlantic University in December 2014. In 2015 she moved back to St. Petersburg and became a studio member at the Morean Center for Clay. She became an Artist in Residence at the MCC in 2018 which gave her the drive to drastically change her style of work. Kearns is currently a Post Baccalaureate student at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge where she finds much inspiration for this new body of work.
